New Gmail Rules

Starting in June, sending emails from a free Gmail account will be restricted. Google is updating its DMARC policy from "p=none" to "p=reject".

This means emails with "anyname@gmail.com" in the FROM address must originate from Gmail, not external sources like your own website. Google's making this change to combat phishing. Read more about DMARC and phishing.

To check if you're using Gmail to send, Navigate to Express > Settings > General and see if your 'From' address ends with "@gmail.com". If it does, you'll need to switch. Instead of Gmail, it's safer to send emails from an address on your own domain.

To do this, log into your website's backend or web hosting account, and create an email address there. If you still want to read your emails in Gmail, you can set up forwarding from your domain address to your Gmail.

If your site runs on cPanel (as many do), follow this guide.
